What I Look for in Scheduling Calendar Software

Scheduling calendar software has been available for many years as part of various computer packages or stand alone products. If you are only familiar with the calendar software programs of the past, you should take a few minutes to look at what is available today. Like many other types of software, scheduling calendar software has improved greatly in the last year or two in its functionality and ease-of-use.

When looking for scheduling calendar software or any other software, I look for programs that are easy to use and yet powerful enough to handle all of my needs. I do not want to spend three months trying to learn how to use the program because I have better ways of spending my time. I want to know how to use the program effectively in a short amount of time and to spend my time actually making use of the program.

I look for software that allows me to quickly and easily track all of the meetings and appointments I have a month at a time. If someone needs to set up a meeting with me for a certain day in a month, I do not want to sort through 30 individual days to get to the specific day of the appointment to set up the schedule. I want to go right to the suggested date in a matter of a few seconds.

In conjunction with the speed of getting to dates, I want the overall speed of the program to be very fast. I do not want to spend time waiting for the program to perform various functions or to "think" about what I have asked it to do. Fortunately, many great programs exist, meeting these desires and many more.
